TORONTO → SOMEWHERE WARM

LEAVE EARTH FOR A MINUTE.

Spacedread is taking the universe on the road. Creative retreats, strange trips, music, art, filmmaking, adventures and beautiful places.

We are building the first one now: a small group, a real place, and a week of making things with the people who live there. Nothing is on sale yet. Tell us where you would go and you will hear first when it is real.

Two Spacedread characters stand together on a clifftop, looking out over a sunset landscape of mountains, waterfalls and sea.

01 · THE IDEA

A SMALL GROUP GOES SOMEWHERE BEAUTIFUL.

  • We make things.
  • We explore.
  • We eat.
  • We play music.
  • We shoot films.
  • We paint.
  • We meet local people.
  • We leave with something that didn't exist before we arrived.

That is the whole format. It is not a tour and it is not a content trip. It is the room Spacedread has been running in Toronto every week for a decade, moved somewhere with better weather and different neighbours.

PROTECT YOUR INNER CHILD.

It is the reason the whole universe exists, and it travels better than anything else we own.

02 · WHAT WE MIGHT DO

SOME OF IT. NOT ALL OF IT. NEVER THE SAME TWICE.

Every trip is shaped by the place and the people who come. Here is the range it gets built from.

MAKE MUSIC

Portable rig, whoever is in the room, whatever the place sounds like. Songs have come out of this room for ten years; there is no reason they should stop at the airport.

MAKE ART

Paint, draw, build, print. The Spacedread universe is hand-made and it gets made wherever we are sitting.

SHOOT SOMETHING

Cameras come. Everyone is in it. Whatever we shoot, everybody who came gets the footage.

GO SOMEWHERE RIDICULOUS

The point of leaving is to end up somewhere you would not have found on your own. Local guides, not a coach window.

EAT WELL

Communal meals, cooked where we are staying, by people from there where we can manage it.

DJ

One night, a proper sound system, and the room. Spacedread has been running karaoke and hosting rooms across 30+ venues in the GTA — the job is the same anywhere.

LEARN SOMETHING

Workshops from whoever brought a skill. Music, animation, AI workflows, cameras, the unglamorous business half. Same six things the Incubator passes on every week.

DISAPPEAR INTO NATURE

Whole days with nothing to make. This is not optional programming — the empty days are where most of it actually happens.

MEET LOCAL CREATORS

Musicians, artists, filmmakers, DJs from where we are. Paid, credited, and part of what gets made — not background for our footage.

SHOW WHAT WE MADE

The last night is a showcase. Whatever the week produced, played and shown to whoever wants to come.

03 · WE'VE ALREADY STARTED

BUILT IN TORONTO. NEXT STOP: SOMEWHERE WARM.

Every week for ten years, Cassius and Pants have put creators in the same room and given them space to make things. That room is called the Creators Incubator, and it is where the entire Spacedread universe came from. Spacedread Travel is that room, moved.

10 YEARS

Weekly creative sessions, uninterrupted

200+

Original songs developed in the room

CHAPTER MANGO

An interactive magazine, downstream of the practice

9 GAMES

Original browser games shipped, on one live leaderboard

TRPKL

A festival built and run in-house — ops, vendors and floor

NXNE 2026

Performed at North by Northeast, Toronto

We are not asking anyone to imagine it. Everything the Incubator has made is live and playable right now, from any phone, for free. Open it before you decide whether we can run a week in your building.

THE ROOM TRAVELS.

Cassius Crieghtney and Amanda Andress have run that weekly room together for ten years, from Toronto. Everything above came out of it. Spacedread Travel is the same practice, somewhere else, with different people in the circle.

04 · WHERE

THREE PLACES WE ARE WORKING ON.

None of these is for sale. The status on each card says exactly how real it is, and it changes on this page the day it changes in real life.

COSTA RICA

Pacific coast · the Osa · the mountains

PARTNER SEARCHWe are talking to people on the ground. Nothing agreed yet.

The first one. Jungle, coast and mountains inside a few hours of each other, a real creative community already living there, and operators who run small groups properly.

WHAT WE’RE EXPLORING

  • A week somewhere off-grid — music, film, art, and days with nothing scheduled
  • A sea-kayaking expedition on the Pacific, shot and scored as we go
  • Local musicians and filmmakers on the record, paid and credited
  • A showcase on the last night for whoever is around

JAMAICA

To be decided with whoever hosts us

EXPLORINGAn idea we like. No partner, no dates, nothing agreed.

The one with the deepest pull for this universe. Spacedread's voice is part Scarborough, part Caribbean, and it should go and stand somewhere that made it.

WHAT WE’RE EXPLORING

  • A villa or guest house as a working studio for a week
  • Recording with local artists rather than about them
  • A pop-up showing of what came out of it

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Punta Cana · Bávaro

EXPLORINGAn idea we like. No partner, no dates, nothing agreed.

The loud one. Music-heavy, colourful, chaotic in the Spacedread way. Not a luxury influencer trip — a week that is genuinely fun and comes home with something made.

WHAT WE’RE EXPLORING

  • Nights out that are actually part of the work
  • Excursions shot properly instead of vlogged
  • A track built out of the week and released

AND WHEREVER WE FIND NEXT.

If somewhere should be on this list — because you live there, run something there, or just know it is right — tell us. Half of this list will come from people reading this page.

05 · HOW THIS CAN WORK

SIX WAYS IN. START ANYWHERE.

Nobody has to agree to a retreat on the first email. Most of these start at level one or two and only move when both sides want them to.

  1. 01

    AFFILIATE

We share an experience we would genuinely go on. We earn a referral if someone books.

FOR YOU: Costs you nothing. Bookings from an audience you don't reach.

  2. 02

    CONTENT PARTNER

We come and make things — photography, film, short-form, original music written where we are standing. You keep and use all of it.

FOR YOU: A library of real content, in exchange for some mix of stay, experiences, travel or fee.

  3. 03

    CREATIVE PARTNER

We build an experience with you rather than filming the one you have.

FOR YOU: Something on your calendar that nobody else can copy.

  4. 04

    SPACEDREAD ESCAPE

We bring a small paying group to you.

FOR YOU: Filled rooms on dates you choose, and the story of the week.

  5. 05

    SPACEDREAD RETREAT

Multi-day creative programming — workshops, sessions, a showcase, the whole structure the Incubator runs on.

FOR YOU: A repeatable retreat you co-own, not a one-off booking.

  6. 06

    DESTINATION EVENT

Music, art, film and the playable Spacedread world, opened to the local public with local artists on the bill.

FOR YOU: A cultural event with your name on it, and a reason for the town to come to you.

07 · COME WITH US

I WOULD GO.

This is not a booking and it is not a deposit. It is a list of people who want in, and it is the thing that gets the first trip built — a property takes a real list of interested people far more seriously than a good idea.

Optional. Only if you have one.
“I just want to come” is a real answer, and it is the first one.
Where would you go?
Honestly answered, this is what stops the first trip being priced out of reach.
No payment. No commitment. You can get off the list with one reply.

06 · FOR PARTNERS

HAVE A PLACE WE SHOULD DISAPPEAR TO?

We are looking for people on the ground: retreats, villas, hotels, resorts, tourism operators, venues, experience companies, destination organisations — and local artists, DJs, photographers and filmmakers who want to be part of what gets made rather than watch it happen.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Somewhere a small group can stay and work
  • An experience worth building a week around
  • Local creators to collaborate with — paid and credited
  • Someone who knows the logistics on the ground
  • A room, a stage or a wall for the last-night showcase

WHAT WE BRING

  • A filmmaker, photographer, musician, DJ and creative director in one person
  • Original IP — characters, music, artwork, games, a playable universe
  • Ten years of running a weekly creative room, and a festival built in-house
  • Content you keep and can use, not a tagged post
  • A group we bring to you, once the first trip exists

Straight answer on where this is: Spacedread Travel is new. The universe, the community and the ten years behind it are not. We are looking for the first destination partner, and whoever that is gets built into the story properly.

Leave blank if it’s just you. That’s fine.
What are you imagining?
No pitch deck required. A sentence and a link is enough to start.

08 · QUESTIONS

THE USUAL QUESTIONS.

Can I book a trip right now?

No. Nothing on this page is for sale. We are choosing the first destination and the partner who will host it. Joining the list costs nothing and means you hear first.

Do I have to be a creator?

No, and this matters to us. The first option on the form is “I'm not a creator — I just want to come.” The room works better when it is not all professionals.

What will it cost?

We don't know yet, and we would rather say that than invent a number. The form asks for your rough budget precisely so the first trip gets built at a price real people can actually pay.

Who is behind this?

Cassius Crieghtney and Amanda Andress, from Toronto. They have run a weekly creative room together for ten years, built the universe at spacedread.tv, and run TRPKL Festival in-house.

Is this an influencer trip?

No. Nobody is being asked to post. The point is to make something real with local people and leave the place better for us having been there.

How big is a group?

Small. Small enough that everybody knows everybody by day two, and small enough to actually make things together. The exact number gets set with the first destination partner.

I run a place. What are you actually asking for?

It depends entirely on the level — see the six ways in above. The first conversation is usually about what we could build together, not what anyone gives anyone.

Do you take a commission on things you recommend?

Sometimes, and it is disclosed on this page. Nothing appears here because it pays a commission — that would make the recommendations worthless, which is the only asset this page has.

WANT SPACEDREAD AT YOUR EVENT INSTEAD?

Interactive shows, hosted karaoke, weddings and corporate events — the same universe, brought to a room in your city rather than ours.
