The Playable Media Festival Begins

Mango Mixer was an experiment. It worked. Here is what it proved, and where it goes next.

Mango Mixer asked a simple question. Can a festival exist inside a website, across a projector and throughout a real room, all at the same time? On September 19, 2026, more than 50 people came through and answered it.

What the night proved

  • People will enter a world together if the door is on their phone. Guests found their own way into the projected Spacedread world.
  • A game can hold a film program. Spacedread walked into the digital cinema, pressed play, and the real screening continued from inside the world.
  • The room still matters. Paintings, a DJ set from Sylus Rose, drinks, light and more than 50 people across the day made the digital part feel like an event.
  • People will pay to be there. Tickets sold, drinks sold, the room filled.
  • A premiere can live inside a party. One Take Jake debuted a 30 minute piece to a room that stayed to watch it.

The name

We are calling what comes next Spacedread: The Playable Media Festival. It is a working name, and it describes the idea: media you watch, inside a world you play, with people you can actually meet.

Where it goes

The next chapter opens the world to more music videos, short films, livestreams, performances, artists and players. The festival grows in two directions at once: in person, and online, where anyone can walk into the cinema.

Formal submissions are opening soon. If you make music videos, short films, art, live performance or streams, or you want to partner or just be in the room, you can tell us now. Registering interest does not guarantee selection. It does guarantee you hear first.
